Based in Los Angeles, CA, you will support the Director Fleet Performance to deliver a higher level of fleet reliability and maintenance optimization through the development and introduction of processes and engineering practices. You will implement new concepts and proven tools that will deliver higher reliability and performance. You will develop and deliver solutions that will realize improvements in Fleet Availability and performance of Rail vehicles.

In your role you will:

  • Develop methods for gathering, analyzing and examining reliability data then correlate this data using well defined engineering techniques, practices and processes. Track site performance based on defined KPI's. Prepare consolidated recommendations and reports on what actions should be taken to drive a higher level of reliability;

  • Plan and performs engineering research in regards to equipment, components and processes using general engineering practices focused on reliability improvements;

  • Review existing maintenance techniques and practices to validate their effectiveness;

  • Identify potential maintenance techniques and scientific tools that may be introduced to drive a higher level of reliability, optimize our maintenance programs, lower cost, and maintain the highest possible level of safety;

  • Make recommendations and prepare commercial justifications for such investments and or implementations;

  • Determine impact on customer contract requirements and Federal regulations;

  • Review, design and develop new and unique engineering methods and work practices/procedures, identify and evaluate special equipment, innovative test procedures, performs risk/safety analysis and prepare detailed technical reports recommendations aimed at driving reliability.

  • Consider cost impact, asset availability, safety, improved through-put, minimized down time and shop efficiencies in addressing reliability issues;

  • Support the growth of Services where possible through ways and means that include but are not limited to proposal support, identifying opportunities for improved productivity, reducing cost, creative maintenance approaches, optimizing maintenance, improving asset utilization and reducing our overall product costs.


As our ideal candidate:

  • You hold a Bachelor’s Degree, mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience;

  • You cumulate from 3 to 5 years of relative experience required including the ability to demonstrate achievements in fleet performance analysis;

  • You have Excellent organization skills;

  • You have experience working in a multicultural and multi-site environment (e.g. working in international teams, multi-site projects etc);

  • You possess Analytical Thinking skills.

  • You have strong Knowledge of MS Office, Windows, Lotus Notes;

  • You have Teamwork & Cooperation abilities;

  • Your English communication skills are excellent both written and spoken.
