Strategic Imperative: The Training and Technology Specialist is instrumental in the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly effective training courses and corresponding materials. Effective training is critical for franchisee success. This position also serves as the Training Department liaison with Information Technology Department. He or she is essential for Learning Management System maintenance and related LMS support cases. Primary Objectives:

  • Design, build, and systematize training courses and materials

  • Research and utilize a variety of the training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs

  • Configure, implement, and maintain courses, content, and training within the learning management system – online, ILT, and VILT

  • Create, lead, manage in person and remote webinar training events, as needed Essential Job Functions:

  • Create, revise, and maintain training course materials (guides, handouts, visual aids, etc.) aligned with the Mathnasium Operating System for the LMS

  • Design and lead in-person training sessions as needed

  • Systematize training so that in-person sessions remain consistent even if led by different presenters

  • Revise and update current online courses and training materials to reflect system changes

  • Assist Training Director with ensuring system alignment at Company Owned centers by conducting regular visits (for SoCal only)

  • Design activity-based training that promotes retention and learner engagement

  • Upload and maintain new training courses on the LMS

  • Update and maintain all training records in M2 (or spreadsheets)

  • Perform detailed analysis of M2 data (even if not directly related to training) and clean erroneous data

  • Provide reporting support related to LMS training activities to various departments as needed

  • Consult and support discussions with Information Technology Department as they relate to LMS enhancements and system updates/upgrades

  • Manages roles and permissions associated with LMS access

  • Maintain Adobe Connect and LMS integration to ensure webinar trainees have completed required training.

  • Assists with administration, planning and execution of the annual convention. Examples of Key Projects/Goals:

  • Create the online learning modules necessary to allow in-person training to be primarily activity-based (as opposed to "information delivery")

  • Systematize in-person training sessions and materials Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (in human resources, organizational development, behavioral science or similar area of study preferred)

  • Thorough understanding of adult learning theory and experience teaching adults

  • Experience designing curriculum or training and understanding of current training methodologies Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years' experience in training

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Exceptional presentation skills

  • Experience working for a franchise company Qualities:
