Salar Range: $70,188 - $110,943 (Grade F)
Responsible for production of weekly A division service plans that accurately describe work areas, type of work, service to be operated, and operating department’s responsibilities during a diversion of service. Consults and negotiates with personnel in all affected departments to ensure that service plans are accurate and operable. Supervises a service plan writer and insures that their work is accurate. Works with Department of Subways, Maintenance of Way, and Capital Program Management to develop last-minute service plans for emergencies and other urgent work.
Education and Experience
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and five years of experience involved with large rapid transit operator in service planning, capital project management, rapid transit supervision and/or operations, two of which must be in supervisory/managerial capacity.
- Master’s degree in transit operations, traffic operations, traffic engineering or other related fields preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Department of Subways operating and safety procedures, types of track work and construction methods
- Comprehensive knowledge of subway system geography, track layout, capacity, station characteristics, and New York city geography and neighborhood characteristics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

Appointment may be at a comparable level to current level of selected candidate (if necessary).
