JOB REQUIREMENTS: Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications. Deliver or route materials to departments using handtruck, conveyor, or sorting bins. Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy. Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Is expected to abide by all plant safety and 5S policies and procedures. Must follow all personal protective equipment requirements while in the manufacturing area. Responsible for accurately receiving, counting & identifying materials at receipt and in the warehouse. Must ensure inventory accuracy at all times. Must be familiar with receiving methods. Must be able to use a computer and the stock locator system. Independently move to the work within receiving tasks to eliminate batches / overflow situations as necessary by a self-directed team. Perform ancillary warehousing tasks, including but not limited to: cycle counting, replenishment, consolidation, PO discrepancies, dunnage. Must be able to operate all materials handling equipment. Must be willing to back up cell operators and other materials handling processes. Must be able to understand and follow departmental standard work. Accountable for process evaluation, measurement, documentation and improvement on a continuous basis. Participate in department projects and/ or activities such as Safety teams, TIB, HPT or Kaizen Events. Must be willing to flex hours in OT or leave early to manage fluctuations in daily inbounds. Be able to support a 25% vacation / FMLA / call in limit. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Department Manager or Leader. Must be able to use simple measuring instruments such as scale and caliper. Forklift or equivalent equipment background. Good communication skills, high degree of initiative, and a work record which has demonstrated good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Must be able to perform considerable physically work and stand for long periods of time. Required Must have a high school education or equivalent.
