There are 4 service lines; Orthopedics, Cardiovascular, General/GYN/Urology and Neurology/Plastics.

The Registered Nurse is a licensed professional, who works with the patient, family, and/or significant other(s). In collaboration with the primary physician and other interdisciplinary team members, the Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a coordinated, individualized plan of care. The plan of care will be continuously evaluated in order to address unmet outcomes, and modified for further intervention or consultation. The Registered Nurse practices in accordance with Saint Joseph's Hospital's Mission, Policies /Procedures, Standards of Practice/Care; the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Essential Fuctions:

Conducts initial and ongoing age-appropriate assessments for assigned patients. Analyzes and diagnoses alterations in findings with patient's clinical presentation. Consistently evaluates progress toward outcomes and revises outcomes and interventions. Provides age-appropriate nursing care to patients in accordance with standards of Clinical Nursing Practice. Educates patient/family on the intraoperative plan of care and updates on the progression of the intraoperative plan of care utilizing materials/methods appropriate for age and development. Applies safety measures appropriate for the patient's age and development. Consistently demonstrates accurate and complete documentation. Utilizes computer applications and medical complex information systems.

This part-time opportunity is available to fill a need for the Orthopedic service line. The incumbent in this role would be scheduled 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday, variable shifts (primarily days and evenings). On call rotations typically include 2 weekdays per week and every 6th weekend.

Qualifications: Graduation from a National League for Nursing (NLN) approved school with an Associate Degree, Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in nursing is required Work experience providing direct patient care in an acute care setting is preferred but not required -- New graduates are encouraged to apply!
