Manages safe and environmentally compliant operations of Tank Farm, Wharves and Terminals. Supervises assigned team consisting of front-line supervisors and hourly workforce in unionized environment.
-Supervises, primary through front-line supervisors, operations of Tank Farm, Wharves and Terminal. Leads and directs efforts to ensure scheduled inspections, calibrations, regulatory reporting and testing requirements are documented and completed in timely manner. Apprises management of significant incidents and potential problems.
-Reviews maintenance work orders to ensure appropriate prioritization. Represents zone in maintenance pre-planning and pre-job meetings.
-Ensures Department of Transportation (DOT) and United States Coast Guard (USCG) records are maintained and available for inspection. Evaluates and proctors employees in DOT procedures to comply with Operator Qualification Program requirements.
-Maintains visible and active field presence to promote safe working environment and assure activities are conducted in environmentally compliant manner in accordance with environmental regulations and permitting. Performs schedules safety audits and emergency response drills. Ensures Safe Practices Guidelines are met. Leads audits and near-miss/incident investigation. Follows-up to ensure timely action is taken to resolve environmental exposures.
-Manages staff. Initiates selection, promotion and corrective actions when appropriate; accountable for fair and uniform application of personnel policies.
-Works extended hours, including nights and weekends, in process operations environment and during periods of inclement weather. Accesses areas of refinery requiring use of stairs and/or ladders to inspect critical process and mechanical equipment. On on-call basis responds to operational issues during off-hours.
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE*
-Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
-Minimum 7 years refinery or petrochemical operations or engineering experience required with preference for previous supervisory experience.
