The Services team within Bombardier in North America, numbering over 1,700 professionals through 12 current contracts, is responsible for third party Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services for commuter and light rail transit systems, overhaul and refurbishment of passenger rail cars, material solutions (spare parts, engineering and innovative long term material supply agreements) and technology solutions (creating and implementing innovative products and technologies for our transit clients).
For our growing operations and upcoming projects in Florida and the surrounding area, we are currently looking for a Chief Transportation Officer.
In this role, you will direct all transportation activities for the commuter rail service to ensure safe, prompt and courteous service in accordance with corporate policies, practices, government and customer regulations and special instructions.
In your role you will:
Assess all train performance reports and interface regularly with host railways rail traffic control centers as well as railway operating officers to ensure coordination and daily performance of train operations and to immediately respond and correct deviations to the operating plan;
Ensure that a training/refresher program is developed and in place to upgrade and/or maintain a high level of competence for Locomotive operators;
Provide leadership and direction to subordinate Supervisors on all train operations;
Perform operational audits on the train service and the operating crews;
Ensures that all crew related incidents are properly reported and investigated with appropriate action taken to prevent a recurrence with full report to the General Manager;
Coordinate activities with the Operations Subcontractor in order to maintain a high level train service, customer service and employee compliance and competency.
As our ideal candidate:
You hold a college or technical degree;
You possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in this role;
You possess combined experience in commuter rail or intercity railroad operations;
You have demonstrated experience in management;
You possess a strong knowledge of the Federal Railroad Administration(FRA) rules and regulations;
You have knowledge of CFR 49;
Your experience as Railway Conductor and Locomotive Engineer will be considered as an asset.
