The Services team within Bombardier in North America, numbering over 1,700 professionals through 12 current contracts, is responsible for third party Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services for commuter and light rail transit systems, overhaul and refurbishment of passenger rail cars, material solutions (spare parts, engineering and innovative long term material supply agreements) and technology solutions (creating and implementing innovative products and technologies for our transit clients).

For our growing operations and upcoming projects in Florida and the surrounding area, we are currently looking for a Manager, Dispatching operations.

The Manager, Dispatching Operations will supervise and provide oversite to staff on the daily operations of dispatch, and coordinate the work being performed along the right away. You will also have to conduct required efficiency testing of employees under your supervision and organize and prepare daily operational reports for use by SFRTA.

In your role you will:

  • Direct all operation activities to ensure safe, prompt and courteous service to service to Tri-Rail clients in accordance with corporate policies, practices, government regulations, Operating Rules and special instructions;

  • Assess all train performance reports and interfaces regularly with host railways rail traffic control centers as well as railway operating officers to ensure coordination and daily performance of train operations and to immediately respond and correct deviations to the operating plan;

  • Provide leadership and direction to Dispatchers and Flagging crew employees;

  • Perform operational audits on Dispatchers and Flagging crews, ensure that incidents are properly reported and investigated with appropriate action taken to prevent a recurrence with full report to the Deputy General Manager- Operations;

  • Ensure that Dispatchers and Flagging crews have the proper level of job proficiency in order to maintain a high level of employee compliance and competency.


As our ideal candidate:

  • You possess a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience;

  • You possess combined experience in commuter rail or intercity railroad operations;

  • You have demonstrated experience in management;

  • You possess a strong knowledge of the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) rules and regulations;

  • You possess the following skills: Title 49 CFR Part 214;

  • Your English communication skills must be excellent.
