The Services team within Bombardier in North America, numbering over 1,700 professionals through 12 current contracts, is responsible for third party Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services for commuter and light rail transit systems, overhaul and refurbishment of passenger rail cars, material solutions (spare parts, engineering and innovative long term material supply agreements) and technology solutions (creating and implementing innovative products and technologies for our transit clients).
For our growing operations and upcoming projects in Florida and the surrounding area, we are currently looking for a Rail Mechanical Manager.
In your role you will:
Direct, control and supervise the performance of the department including customer service, equipment reliability, property management and transportation for an efficient and safe twenty-four/seven operation of the service contract;
Direct and administer the supervisory and technical staff to insure quality and timely delivery of maintenance operations as outlined in the service contract;
Ensure timely delivery of equipment to customer to maintain uptime availability of rolling equipment by insuring quality and safe working conditions as outlined in equipment specifications;
Serve as liaison with customer and Bombardier Transportation to ensure quality service is provided;
Insure that all jurisdictional specifications, standards, Federal/State or Province regulations or laws, BTNA policies are followed and communicated to employees accordingly;
Supervise, hire, monitor and coordinate work activities of direct reports;
Control expenditures in accordance with budget, reviews and authorizes purchase of supplies, services and equipment.
As our ideal candidate:
You hold Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering Degree and/or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent;
You cumulate a minimum of 10 years of experience in similar role;
You possess combined experience in commuter rail or intercity railroad operations;
You have demonstrated experience in management;
You possess a strong knowledge of the Federal Railroad Administration(FRA) rules and regulations;
Your FRA and DOT knowledge would be preferred;
You are familiar with and experience in managing complex administration departments and assets (facilities and equipement);
You must have the ability to learn new software applications such as Maximo and SAP;
You must be familiar with Title 49 CFR rules and regulations in regards to passenger rail industry;
You have strong experience with MS Office;
- Your English communication skills are excellent.
