- Responsible for managing the procurement plans and safety stock required to support the customer forecast, sales orders, and inventory targets for parts and kits that ultimately result in balancing demand and supply. This position monitors inventory health, and facilitates inventory consensus on across sales, operations, and procurement for a particular buying Commodity Group. This position involves a high level of interaction with a variety of business functions.
Manages the Supply Planners buyer queue analysis and resolves issues related to the weekly procurement plans. This includes buyer queue rejections.
Review, validate, and resolve issues related to safety stock and warehouse stocking levels
Mentors supply planners in resolving their exceptions and meeting their responsibilities
Manages inventory levels, identifies exceptions, and develops resolutions to large variances to these levels in order to escalate or take corrective action.
Monitors inventory health for the assigned commodity group to ensure optimal customer service and high on time delivery percentage.
Prepare data and material for weekly planning meeting with buyers.
Accountable for the following metrics for the assigned commodity groups: Weekly rejections, inventory health, inventory, on time delivery, purchasing past due, and forecast accuracy.
Works with the Demand Planner to align forecast adjustments based on issues identified in the procurement plans
Facilitates and compiles information for the monthly SIOP Supply Review
Modify and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for planning processes and systems
Reviews and approves all assigned system enhancements and continuous improvements
Facilitates regular tier meetings and one on ones with Supply Planners
Interacts frequently with Sr. business leaders
Complexity of Assignments:
Directly manages all Supply Planners.
Assigned all commodity groups
Responsible for reporting out the health status of all commodities but actively managing the planning of the commodity groups indicated above.
Accountable for Forecast Accuracy, Inventory, Inventory Health, On time delivery, and Purchasing Past Dues for the part volume associated with the planned Commodity Groups.
- Bachelor’s Degree
Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Math, Finance, or comparable field
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in forecasting, supply planning, production planning, or similar Supply Chain role
• Extensive data analysis skills using Excel or Access.
• Demonstrates strong analytical skills
• High attention to detail
• Strong facilitation and meeting management skills
• Ability to manage conflict
•Experience with using Supply Chain Planning software
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Complete knowledge of standard demand and supply planning principles
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
SQL querying skills for data analysis
Experience with JDA i2 Supply Chain Planning software
Aerospace industry experience
