JOB REQUIREMENTS: Provide support in developing an economic framework for analyzing and solving problems that arise from scarcity within Marquette University's business model to best serve our student customer base. Apply quantitative reasoning to bring key issues into focus by mapping out available financial resources and matching those resources to strategic and master plan capital requirements. Performs a variety of analytical duties related to the day-to-day operations of the university including: special reports, budgetary analysis, graphical and statistical information related to key university financial metrics; developing and maintaining financial benchmark data from internal and external sources; apply economic knowledge in the development of assigned responsibilities and projects. 1. Data Analysis Assist in data collection, research and report preparation; assists the review, analysis and preparation of revenue drivers within university budget. Financial Planning and Analysis: Understand and communicate the economic variables related to the industry of higher education. Research and analyze competitors in the evaluation of the university's financial standing. Perform economic forecasts, and provide solutions to financial weaknesses and potentials. Maintain benchmarking data files and develop related comparison reports. Compile and organize financial data for various university units including financial trends at the university and department levels. Work well individually and with others as part of a team environment. Provide administrative support as required in the development and maintenance of software applications. 2. Regular Projects Identify the various target clients within the university business model and link the financial constraints of the customer to the financial expectations to the university in its forecast and operating budget. Contribute to the assessment of tuition rates and discount through the application of economic knowledge, analysis of competing institutions, and understanding of the university's target clients. Management of the university's Office of Finance and university policies and procedures websites. Provide monthly economic commentary related to the higher education industry for the Office of Finance Treasurer's Report. Coordination of the monthly Treasurer's report compilation and posting to the Office of Finance Website. Help develop and distribute quarterly Board of Trustees materials, the Committee on Finance and Risk booklet and the related SharePoint Site. Assists in the data collection, research, and report preparation of financial pro formas, annual budget reporting, and the financial agreement models related to Summer and RCM Fiscal year reporting. 3. Office Duties Retrieve data from the Marquette Financial and Budget Systems, as well as Oracle and PeopleSoft Systems. Provide other informational support as defined by Chief Financial Officer or the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. 4. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. AA/EOE ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in business economics, accounting or related field required. One year of related experience. Experience with using complex mathematical modeling, forecasting, and advanced statistical techniques. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint). Tableau Software expertise. Knowledge of Adobe Contribute Software for website maintenance. SharePoint site management. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong analytical and conceptual skills overall and the ability to creatively solve new problems. Maintain confidentiality.
