About the Position:As a Test Administrator, you will administer tests in high schools and other educational institutions to individuals wishing to enter military service. This position will cover the Minneapolis, MN area and up to a 100 mile radius of that area. This position DOES NOT provide guaranteed work hours each week, and work will be assigned on an intermittent "as needed basis".
This position will NOT lead to a full-time position.

The United States Military Entrance Processing Center (US MEPCOM), with headquarters in Building 3400, Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Great Lakes (North Chicago), IL, is a joint staffed command under the direction of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Military Personnel Policy and is staffed by representatives of all branches of the Armed Forces. The command, through its 65 Military Entrance Processing Stations, determines whether applicants are qualified for enlistment based on standards set by each of the services. Two geographic sectors provide intermediate management in operating the MEPS. The Eastern Sector Headquarters and Western Sector Headquarters are co-located with the Command Headquarters.

As a Test Administrator, you will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct specified aptitude examination sessions.
- Resolve various problems during the testing session.
- Conduct advanced coordination with school officials to facilitate proper testing environment.
- Review applicant test admission forms.
- Prepare test session packages.
- 50% or Greater
- Business travel is approximately 50% of duty time
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. General experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of a Test Administrator. Examples of qualifying general experience include but are not limited to Conducting thorough checks to ensure all forms are completed properly; Distributing and collecting testing materials for analysis; Preparing packages and ensuring they are ready to be mailed to appropriate offices; Utilizing customer service skills to develop working relationships with the public (i.e., school officials, students, applicants, recruiters, etc.); and Maintaining and filing records to ensure accountability and ease of retrieval.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definition below:
Education Substitution for General Experience for GS-04: You may substitute general experience with two (2) full academic years of undergraduate education above the high school level from an accredited college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for General Experience for GS-04: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of undergraduate education by 60; or your quarter hours of education by 90; or your business, secretarial or technical school total weeks by 72. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts).
In order to qualify for this position, based on your education, education substitution, or combination of education and experience, you must have either completed the education requirement, or will complete this requirement within one (1) month from the closing date of this announcement. If you will not complete this requirement within one (1) month from the closing date of this announcement, you will be rated as Ineligible for this position. You must provide appropriate documentation to reflect when you will meet the education requirement. Appropriate documentation includes: (1) Resume indicating your projected completion/graduation date; OR (2) Transcripts indicating your projected completion/graduation date; OR (3) A letter signed by the institution's registrar indicating your projected completion/graduation date.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
