Lowe's Accounting Assistant Manager in Mooresville, North Carolina
The accurate and timely reporting of vendor funded programs is critical to the success of our company, especially in light of the high degree of regulatory oversight in this area, and tremendous growth in the volume and complexity of our vendor funded programs.
The Assistant Manager will have direct supervisory responsibility of a team responsible for Product Line Review Financial Data and the monitoring and tracking of trade allowance programs negotiated between the Merchandising Department and our vendors to ensure that funds due have been collected and accounted for properly. Will also oversee the team’s tracking, accrual, adjustment and collection of vendor funded programs negotiated between the Merchandising Department and our vendors to ensure that funds due to us have been collected and accounted for properly.
The Assistant Manager will review month end variance explanations, provide feedback and ensure necessary adjustments are entered timely and accurately. Frequent communication with Merchandising, vendors, other departments within Finance and other vendor funds accounting teams is required.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, vendor program evaluation and forecasting support and analysis. Strong analytical skills are required to identify additional funding opportunities and drive profitability. These responsibilities also require vendor reviews, and the forecasting for future vendor funded programs based on projected sales and inventory turns.
The individual in this position will need to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and offer recommendations for process improvements. The candidate will also assist with the formulation of the annual department business plan and conduct annual reviews of team members.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
• The candidate for this position will hold a BS or BA Degree in Accounting or Business and have 5-7 years of accounting and supervisory experience.
• One must be self-motivated, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have strong leadership skills, including the ability to effectively influence and motivate others.
• This position also requires excellent time management/organizational skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills, and a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Must be proficient in MS Office software, including Excel, Access and Word.
• Audit experience, along with strong computer skills (Excel, Access, etc.), is strongly desired.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
