Job Title: Deli 3rd Shift Clerk

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports To: Deli Manager/Deli PM Supervisor

Responsible for ensuring that all company policies and procedures are being followed and that department goals are being met. Contributes to store sales and profitability by effectively managing all aspects of the Deli overnight.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *1) Provide customer service to guests

  • Wait on guests when in need of assistance
  • Assist guests with finding items they are looking for
  • Take special orders

2) Slice cheese for the service case

  • Change all cheese trays
  • Clean glass and wipe out case, doors, and door tracks
  • Slice cheese to fill the case while stacking on trays to the standards of the department

3) Slice meat for the service case

  • Change all meat sammies
  • Clean glass and wipe out case, doors, and door tracks
  • Slice meat to fill case while stacking on trays to the standards of the department

4) Keep everything clean and tidy

  • Clean meat and cheese slicers when finished
  • Clean up area (sweep floors, wipe off counters, etc.)

5) Pull, face and fill items on the self-service case

  • Pull all outdated product; price anything if necessary
  • Face and fill everything
  • Make any trays if needed

6) Proper filling

  • Proper filling will be done as needed and as instructed by the leads of the department

7) Required to maintain food safety logs.

8) Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel

  • Knowledge of perishable foods
  • Must be neat and clean in appearance, friendly, and inviting
  • Requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers knives, baler, trash compactor, dishwasher
  • Must work at a fast pace


  • Stand in one place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly
  • Lifting up to 45 pounds on a frequent basis


  • The Deli 3rd Shift Clerk position is a part time hourly position scheduled less than 28 or less hours per week
  • The shift to be worked will typically be 10pm-6am (but may change due to the needs of the department), including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
