As a Contract Administrator you are responsible for managing our DuPont Contract Administration program and ensuring the policies and procedures are followed for the activity of contracted work. Work with contractors on setting goals and objectives as well as performance around safety, quality, schedule, cost and productivity. This position involves working closely with site leadership, engineers, technicians and our contract partners to effectively execute maintenance activities and capital projects on site.

Responsibilities include:

  • Alignment with the site contracting strategy or Capital Procurement Process

  • Development and maintain site contract administration procedures and processes

  • Adherence to DuPont Core Values throughout contracting process

  • Contractor prequalification process including variance process

  • Bid package development including site conditions and scope development

  • Providing and documenting contractor safety orientation with the SHE professional

  • Auditing contractor training including home office audits

  • Coordination of work in the field including safety audits, JSA audits, and the work permit process

  • Conducting post job evaluations

  • Works with sites contracted services suppliers on performance objectives and needed improvements regarding safety, quality, schedule, cost and productivity

  • Verifying receipt of services including working with accounts payable to resolve invoice issues

  • Assisting with injury management and incident investigations

  • Manages the interface between the contractors, legal, sourcing, SHE, accounts payable, tax, the project process and any other party

  • Lead Building Facility Work orders that rely on contractors


  • BS strongly preferred in Business, Safety or health or related technical field

  • 5 years’ experience in all aspects of plant operations, SHE managing processes, with understanding of contracting, financial controls, construction, maintenance, temporary staffing, and CA requirements.

  • Field Contract Administration or Construction Engineer experience is a plus

  • Organizational and project execution skills, ability to handle multiple assignments, setting & communicating priorities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to lead and uphold core values (Respect for People, SHE, Ethics, Environmental Stewardship)

  • Self-starter with systematic decisions making, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability present information to all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to work with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite & purchasing systems such as SAP strongly preferred

  • Excellent communications / interpersonal skills to develop effective relationships with internal and external resources.

  • Strong team player with an ability to work closely with all functional teams within the plant

  • Ability to do moderate to heavy stair climbing (including vertical ladders), along with the ability to work above floor surfaces (heights)

  • Ability to do moderate heavy lifting (50 lbs)
