DuPont Industrial Biosciences operates the world's largest cellulosic ethanol plant right here in Nevada, Iowa. We are committed to hiring and employing top talent and are currently seeking Process Technicians to join our manufacturing team. We are offering relocation assistance for eligible, non-local candidates!

In the Process Technician role, you will be responsible for process operation in areas across the plant. You will monitor equipment and production processes to ensure maximization of ethanol manufacturing. This involves working with our process control system, troubleshooting equipment and interacting with engineers, technicians and maintenance to optimize the process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform core process operations, which may include: media prep, fermentation, recovery, DCS automation, packaging, loading & unloading trucks, and working outdoors

  • Troubleshoot equipment such as valves, pumps, hoses, etc.

  • Work with fellow process technicians, area experts, and engineers to optimize the process

  • Actively participate in crew and department activities (including: definition of best practices, consensus decision making, SOP development and maintenance, training, continuous improvement efforts and standardization)

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with regard to: division of tasks, shift handover, e-mail, problem resolution, feedback, process documentation, etc.

  • Work in an organized and safe manner; address safety, GMP and housekeeping concerns

  • Contribute to continuous improvement through observations, attention to detail and follow through

  • Implement, adhere to and recommend changes to ISO standards


We are looking for effective, results-driven, self-directed and motivated team players who communicate in an open, honest manner. We are looking for candidates who can work 12-hour rotating shifts and be flexible to participate in training and potential shift changes/overtime. In addition, qualified candidates should possess the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required, A.S. in Process Technology, or a scientific/technical field highly regarded

  • Experience in an industrial plant environment, specifically in a continuous manufacturing plant, is highly preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-starter with systematic decision making, problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to define, write and follow Standard Operating Procedures

  • Experience with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and coordinate activities

  • Strong team player with an ability to work closely with all functional teams within the plant

  • Ability to do moderate to heavy stair climbing (including vertical ladders), along with the ability to work above floor surfaces (heights)

  • Ability to do moderate to heavy lifting (50 lbs)
