Enterprise Community Parnters 16:PAR-084: Associate Director of Development in New York, New York

Job Summary

The Associate Director of Development will be responsible for supporting the fundraising team with strategies and tasks related to fundraising, cultivation events and new prospect development. The Associate Director will report to the Director of Development. The applicant will inspire current donors to stay involved and attract new donors to Enterprise Community Partners and will be responsible for prospect management, the development and implementation of fundraising strategies, coordination of cultivation events, visits and tours, preparing staff materials for donor meetings and executing donor follow-up.

The position will be located in New York City and will have NYC & East Region geographic responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research and identify prospective individual, corporate and foundation donors.

  • Network within the housing sector to cultivate and build relationships with potential supporters.

  • Conduct cultivation and fundraising event logistics.

  • Keep calendar of events, meetings and calls that need to be conducted by Market Leader, Senior Director and Director**

  • **Create and manage lists for Gala, cultivation events, online fundraising efforts, advisory board and junior board events, donor acknowledgments, etc.

  • Track outreach and performance of previous sponsors.

  • Provide guidance and advice on event design, theme and planning

  • Prepare staff materials for donor meetings.

  • Track and conduct stewardship of local donors, including written correspondence.

  • Assure that relationship management information is up to date and accurate.


  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years progressive fundraising, event-planning or business development experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of judgment in a wide variety of situations and in response to a wide variety of issues.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.

  • Goal-oriented.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Salesforce software.

  • Savvy relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate both creative and organizational/detail-oriented focus.
