The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Vice President, Corporate Affairs, and Director, Corporate Affairs, to support a range of corporate communications projects and activities, including initiatives within New Business Development and ELC Ventures, as well as risk mitigation and issues management activities. Will play an important role in the reputational vetting of potential new target acquisitions and investments, and will assist in creating written communications and materials related to all NBD deals. Position will also help newly acquired brand PR/communications teams and agencies with vetting potential corporate external media and engagement opportunities for newly acquired brands and brand founders. Additionally, position will provide support across the Corporate Affairs and broader Global Corporate Communications teams, specifically focusing on developing issues-related strategies for enterprise and brand social media.


  • Working closely with an external agency, support the reputational due diligence of potential new brands and investments

  • Partner closely with the External Media Relations team to help manage press inquiries for New Business Development and ELC Ventures brands

  • Draft and help manage approval processes for press releases, Q&A’s and key messages related to all potential acquisitions and investments

  • Support Director, Corporate Affairs on the execution of corporate communications projects, including executive events, speaking engagements and media opportunities

  • Work closely with Internal Communications team to develop communications plans and materials for ELC Ventures organizational announcements

  • Support ELC Ventures brands on corporate initiatives and asks including Annual Report, Board of Directors Clips, MyELC stories, etc.

  • Daily monitoring of issues-related media, stakeholder identification and research, and maintenance of key issues and stakeholder databases

  • Provide support across Corporate Affairs and broader Corporate Communications teams in the areas of Issues Management, Risk Mitigation, and Social Media Strategy


  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • High degree of emotional intelligence; ability to navigate successfully in a highly matrixed global organization

  • Strategic media relations skills; ability to handle press inquiries on multi-faceted and sensitive topics

  • Creative strategic thinker and problem solver

  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented

  • Demonstrates strong project management abilities

  • Strong executive presence; able to effectively support on complex, sensitive and confidential matters with calm and intelligence

  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with global colleagues

  • Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 3-5
