The Boeing Company Loads & Dynamics Engineer in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Loads & Dynamics Engineer (Level 3) to join the BDS Product Support team located in Oklahoma City, OK.
Your duties as a structural analysis engineer will include (but are not limited to):
This position is for a mid-level Loads & Dynamics Engineer capable of analyzing commercial and military aircraft structure and equipment subjected to external loads, random vibration, and acoustic environments
Evaluating systems and components for random vibration / acoustic compatibility to program requirements
Reviewing drawings and approving modifications of aircraft structure and hardware components for flight worthiness
Developing acoustic levels from flight environments derived from both measured and analytical data
Providing onsite support for hardware vendor qualification tests, including troubleshooting and approving test plan changes
Representing loads & dynamics issues to management and customers during program level reviews and other technical meetings related to vehicle / component dynamics
Typical Education / Experience: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Work Authorization: This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required):
- Experience working on aircraft electronic components (e.g. avionics boxes) environments definition and / or environments qualification testing
Experience in any of the following technical competencies:
o Structural Dynamics
o Noise and Vibration
o Aircraft Loads
Shaker test experience
Experience with ground vibration testing (GVT)
Equipment support hardware loads definition experience
Large military and commercial aircraft structural analysis experience
Dependable, innovative, and problem-solving skills
Experience working in a Linux/Unix computing environment
Experience scripting activities in a Linux or Windows environment
PC platform computer skills is highly desired
Possess interpersonal communication (written & verbal) skills in a team oriented environment
Ability to interact professionally with customer, supplier, field & production representatives
Experience leading teams or projects
