This position is for a Producer/Director with a public university location in Oxford, MS.Job DescriptionThis position utilizes creativity to produce and direct various media products. The incumbent schedules production, directs production staff, produces high quality projects within designated deadlines and budgets, and takes an active role in academic curriculum through video production training for students both in the classroom and in the field.Job ResponsibilitiesCreates documentary projects and institutional productions.Conducts interviews and develops stories that convey a meaningful message.Composes engaging and informative documentaries.Uses creativity and imagination to develop brand identity.Creates motivational communication that generates viewer enthusiasm.Ensures look and style of videos are produced with creativity and consistency and production deadlines are met. Schedules pre-production, production and post-production activities.Organizes and maintains an orderly equipment room.Establishes a system for students to utilize equipment for approved projects.Supervises and/or directs production staff (editors, videographers, student interns, and writers, etc.).Provides video production training for students in the classroom setting and in the field.Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.Ensures assigned tasks are in compliance with University, SEC Conference, and NCAA rules.Essential FunctionsThese essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.
