This role is responsible for the movement of all Allergan-owned product between regions - this primarily is made up of manufacturing sites (internal and external) shipping into distribution centers, but also includes plant-to-plant transfers and shipments into third party manufacturers. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the requirements of all stakeholders are met, including regulatory authorities, Trade Compliance. Security, and Quality Assurance. This role will also drive continuous improvement in the areas of Service, Quality, and Cost.
Main Areas ofResponsibility
Ensure that product moves from source to destination in the proper time, under the proper temperature conditions, and at the proper cost. This position is the primary relationship owner with the freight forwarders that manage the transportation.
Drive continuous improvement in all aspects (cost, service, and compliance) with a strong emphasis on cost. The standard expectation is to more than offset annual cost increases with sustainable cost savings projects. However, in the early years of this position's existence, it is expected to generate savings of at least 10% annually.
Develop and execute strategies to ensure that the distribution network has the capacity and capability to meet the future needs of the business. This includes the integration of newly acquired business.
Make certain adequate policies, processes, and systems are in place to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements - with a focus on security, quality, and trade compliance.
Guarantee that staffing is capable of meeting the current and future needs of the business. This includes developing high potential employees and ensuring a solid bench from which to promote new leaders.
The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job:
10 years in pharmaceutical supply chain management, including at least 5 in international trade (including freight forwarding, transfer pricing, and intercompany trading).
The below skills are attributes that may not be mandatory, but are definitely desired in the ideal candidate.
Management experience in a distribution center and / or manufacturing plant.
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a Technical Discipline
