Position Description

Allergan has quickly evolved into a major pharma company in the past year with aspirations of representing the most dynamic company in "growth pharma". A core tenet of our corporate strategy is our Open Science approach to sourcing and developing innovation, agnostic to source. Thus, we will continue to identify, acquire and integrate products and companies into our core therapeutic areas. The Executive Director, Corporate Initiatives and Integration plays a critical role in leading this integration work. The incumbent will join a team of highly motivated individuals with diverse experience across life sciences, pharma/biotech, and management consulting and will work directly with senior leaders across all commercial, R&D, manufacturing, and G&A functions.

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • Executes effective and agile integration processes for a wide range of licensing, acquisition and M&A activities.Organizes and leads integration work teams and central PMO for a selected number of integrations. Ensures integrations track successfully to Day 1 and conducts required post-integration coordination to ensure projects/people are absorbed into the Allergan fabric after close.

  • Develops project management tools to track key milestones and monitor synergies to completion.Helps to develop integration approach and playbook at Allergan and build integration capabilities in the organization.

  • Leads/implements corporate initiatives and cross-functional strategic projects as determined by the COO.

  • Develops insights, analysis and supporting materials to drive leadership discussions and frame critical decisions.Creates effective presentations for executive management that outline issues and appropriate resolutions, and facilitates effective discussions with senior leaders.


The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job:

  • At least 10 years prior experience in consulting, project management, business analysis, marketing or related business experience, 5 of which should have been within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience in company integrations and/or significant enterprise-wide projects which demonstrate high level of project management skills is highly preferred.

  • Strong presentation presence and exceptional oral and written communication skills.


  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
