BUSINESS MANAGER – OFFENDER OPERATIONS (ASO II)

This position provides administrative and operational support to the business office of the Offender Operations Division.
This includes compliance with agency fiscal management, purchasing, contracting, providing reports, insuring appropriate use of funds, and assisting in producing budget requests and allocations.
Monitors and evaluates the Division’s allocation of Professional and Outsides Services by contract
Logs, signs and prepares requests to spend dollars in the areas of Other Operating, Travel, Professional and Outsides Services
Evaluates, prepares and monitors allocations of annual budget to numerous cost centers
Responds to various questions and requests, and provides technical assistance to support staff
Prepares transfer of fund requests for the Division
Designs spreadsheets, calculates and compiles data for special projects, reports and related tasks
Primary responsibility with be Directors Office Business Manager duties
Backs up Offender Operations Business Manager and Offender Operations Business Administrator
Drives on State business and some travel required
Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Procurement Rules and Regulations
Principles of administration and management
State budget development guidelines
Contract development and process
Generally accepted accounting principles
Computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Planning, calculating, problem analysis and resolution
Researching and compiling fiscal information
Recording, computing and summarizing numerical data
Preparing, recording, entering into the accounting systems and distributing purchase orders and invoices
Oral and written communication
Monitoring and projecting expenditures
Developing computer spreadsheets
Understand analytical and complex formulas
Create and manipulate spreadsheets
Direct and teach staff with positive outcomes
SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S):
Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
Intermediate to advanced level experience with Microsoft Excel
Employment is contingent on the selectedapplicant passing a background investigation.
