This position is responsible for overseeing the Department of Child Safety’s (DCS) Kinship and Foster Care program and related services.
* JOB DUTIES: *
Provides training and technical assistance to field staff, providers and community stakeholders
Reads and interprets state, federal and local codes, laws and regulations
Develops and implements kinship and foster care resources
Participates on internal and external work groups and initiatives
Acts as liaison to internal and external partners and stakeholders
Prepares reports; responds to legislative and community information and media requests
Facilitates meetings, committees and work groups
Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Child Welfare and child safety federal and state legislation
Internal and external kinship and foster care services/resources
Kinship and foster caregiver needs
Verbal and written communication
Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
Work independently, with a team and under general supervision
Plan, organize and coordinate projects
Compose correspondence on complex issues
Experience working with families involved in child welfare systems
Experience identifying, building and maintaining resources/supports
