Buyer / Fleet Specialist


Wolverine Services provides the reliable facilities operations and maintenance, base level logistics, airfield operations, and range operations services that keep military bases and federal agency costs around the country operating at peak efficiency.

Individual will report to the Business Manager and will be responsible for all duties associated with the Procurement of supplies and services in support of a government contract.

  • Reviews requisitions, solicits quotes, negotiates prices and delivery, selects sources, and issues purchase orders in accordance with contract requirements and government regulations.

  • Researches parts, vendors, etc., utilizing a variety or resources, such as the Thomas Register, vendor catalogs, and the internet.

  • Resolves shipping, quantity, and billing discrepancies. Generates reports.

  • Initiates follow-up actions to ensure timely and correct receipt of purchased items.

  • Selects suppliers on a competitive basis, consistent with the objectives of the contract.

  • Communicates and coordinates closely with vendors, government representatives, and project activities to ascertain requirements, obtain approvals, and provide timely delivery of materials.

  • Expedites emergency requests.

  • Creates and maintains purchase order, discrepancy. and vendor files.

  • Processes credit card orders and prepares associated documentation.

  • Ensures all procurement transactions and records are in compliance with FAR, Government and Agency-specific regulations, and/or company policies and procedures.

  • Reviews and confirms transportation reservation requests; assigns vehicles based on length and purpose of trip, freight and/or passenger requirements and user preference.

  • Assembles vehicle packets with keys/WEX card and forms and makes them available for customer pick up by 3:00pm the day prior to reservation start date.

  • Tracks and responds to reservation deviations; retrieves returned packet ensuring customer completed the forms; accounts for any reported/unreported vehicle issues (i.e., damages, performance discrepancies) and updates the GSA system.

  • Ensures the vehicle is clean and fueled for the next reservation.

  • Responsible for conforming to all safe work practices and procedures.

  • Performs other related duties as required.



  • Two years’ experience in a Procurement related field or in supplying parts and materials.

  • Knowledge and understanding of FAR and other contractual and regulatory requirements desirable.

  • Knowledge of commercial supply sources and business practices.

  • Knowledge of supply ordering in a facility maintenance field.

  • Computer skills. Experienced in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
