Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as a Buyer you will assess and develop supply chain strategies to procure and deliver materials to project teams.
In your role you will:
Manage bill of materials and material budget for critical projects;
Define the sourcing and project procurement strategy;
Drive supplier negotiations;
Ensure supplier’s quality aligns with technical specifications, partner with Quality to minimize non-conformity costs;
Analyze and monitor inventory to ensure quantity supports project delivery schedules;
Assess risks in supply chain and align with projects to mitigate risk and cost;
Support needs identification and process and tool implementation under BT governance to achieve “best in class” performance;
Support project bids and recommend procurement strategies and budgets;
Manage and explore material cost reduction activities;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
As our ideal candidate:
You hold Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline;
You possess two (2) to five (5) years of buying or procurement experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment;
You demonstrate a proven track record of successful project delivery;
You demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office and other internet applications;
You can operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;
You possess a background in understanding and implementing customer requirements;
You possess strong organizational and prioritization skills;
You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
You possess the ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;
You demonstrate excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
