We’re hiring a Software Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA to write and implement software that will support Bombardier’s Train Control Management Systems (TCMS) for people movers and other applications. Our Software Engineer will maintain software, perform fixes and updates, and participate in formal reviews for various projects.
In your role you will:
Design, implement, test, and troubleshoot software related to communication systems;
Write software and follow software configuration management processes;
Develop and maintain documentation and evidence for industry compliance;
Interface with engineers of other disciplines working on train control subsystems for Bombardier’s Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) solutions;
Ensure deliverables such as documentation, software configuration, software releases, bug fixes, and new feature implementations are completed on-time, within scope and within budget;
Plan and develop products for future generations of software.
As our ideal candidate:
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering; a Master’s degree will be considered an asset
You possess at least two (2) years of experience developing applications using C, C++, C# and or VB.NET;
You demonstrate knowledge and experience working with, maintaining, and developing software communication applications and associated applications for network monitoring via TCP/IP, UDP, and/or serial networks;
Familiarity with OPC client, TCP/IP protocols, human interface design, and Rhapsody is a plus;
You possess strong organizational and prioritization skills;
You can operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams;
You demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
You adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment;
Your written and verbal English communication skills are excellent.
The incumbent of this position must be able to travel domestically or internationally as required (approximately 10-15%).
