Position Summary

The Sr. Learning & Development Advisor is responsible for partnering and consulting with key stakeholders and HR peers to create and implement unique learning strategies that develop people and leadership skills in order to drive improved business performance. The Sr. Learning & Development Advisor will follow our internal Facilitation Expectations and will be responsible for classroom, virtual classroom and in-market facilitation of curriculum across multiple functions including sales, leadership and operations. The role will use internal quality-driven methodology and data analysis to identify root issues of performance opportunities; and will understand business objectives and advise leaders on people development decisions to achieve those objectives. A Sr. Learning & Development Advisor has strong consultation and facilitation skills, is a strategic thinker, has the ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities, has strong business acumen and can establish credibility at all levels of the organization through communication, knowledge and professional presence.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consult with MD business partners and/or leaders of intact work teams and partner with HR peers to anticipate and understand needs and develop unique learning solutions to meet those needs including training, coaching, guides, observations or other resources and learning interventions.

  • Accurately diagnose organizational performance issues and recommends the most appropriate interventions (may be learning or otherwise); assess effectiveness in meeting needs.

  • Act as a mentor/coach in building the skills and abilities of leaders and professionals, both inside and outside the classroom toward improved performance.

  • Facilitate leadership, sales, and professional training programs to all levels of the organization. Support operational company initiatives through training and developing team members and leaders.

  • Build trust and work effectively with partners and customers at all levels of leadership within the organization through knowledge of business and common interest in achieving goals.

  • Research and stay educated on industry and company trends; benchmark against those.

  • Collaborate and partner across all HR functions; work with HR peers to determine effectiveness of implemented programs; provide measurement of programs.

  • Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning sessions; partner with leaders to recommend and execute development opportunities to build their talent pipeline.

  • Lead and/or facilitate sessions for organization-wide bench development programs; provide support for local bench development.

  • Lead complex projects and/or project teams; create project plans with key activities, milestones, stakeholders, and rollout strategies; ensure execution and measure effectiveness.

  • Manage a heavy workload consisting of on-demand, critical and highly-visible projects as well as ongoing operational/administrative tasks.

  • Accurately manage financial forecasting, accruals and budget alignment.

  • Travel up to 60%.

  • All other duties as needed or required

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• 3+years of internal consulting, business advisory, coaching experience

• 7+ years facilitation experience

• 3+ years training of leadership and/or sales curriculum preferred

• 2+ years of supervising employees preferred

• Must be flexible and able to respond quickly to shifting priorities and demands

• Prior experience in setting training strategy and program implementation, including design and assessment

• Must be able to work with employees and management across all levels including outside vendors

• Ability to organize concepts or ideas in a logical manner and communicate them clearly and concisely

• Ability to Influence and persuade others to buy into goals or actions, without having to rely on positional power

• Strong leadership, problem solving, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as a team member
