We are a constituent of the UK's FTSE100 and our shares are and through (LSE: SN, NYSE: SNN) SUMMARY Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer II specifies and develops operational sequence and manufacturing methods for an electromechanical assembly facility. Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. Must be able to provide technical support for all manufacturing functions. Position Responsibilities: Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with vendors, and soliciting observations from operators. Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment. Works closely with the Design Transfer team in Pittsburgh to seamlessly transition products from Research and Development into scaled production. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. Develops and maintains procedural documentation and project plans.Supports installation and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new equipment and/or processes. Keeps manufacturing lines and production equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. Also, participates in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings for NCMR's (non-conforming material reports). Prepares product and process metrics reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. . Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Maintains product and company reputation by adhering to company policy and complying with government regulations. Minimal travel required (Qualifications Education/Experience/Knowledge: * Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or other Engineering discipline. Minimum of five (5) years' experience in similar position. Experience in medical device industry preferred Lean Manufacturing Principles, 5S Methodology, and 6 Sigma Certification desired. IQ/OQ/PQ creation and execution expertise. CAD software (Creo/Solidworks) and mechanical drawing review experience desired. Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.
