Robert Half Management Resources Sr. Financial Analyst in PORTLAND, Oregon

Large governmental organization client seeks a Senior Financial Analyst for a contract-to-hire opportunity. Primary emphasis will be supporting the Finance Manager. The Senior Financial Analyst will be the primary point of contact for all financial issues, including project spending, planning, forecasting and annual budgeting. You will also perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments supporting public reporting requirements, and provide decision-making support for future company decisions. Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with key business partners and Finance/Accounting leadership

  • Provide financial modeling support to major business lines

  • Oversee the changes in funding levels of assigned business lines

  • Drive existing management reporting – analyze financial results, distill and synthesize issues, communicate key messages to senior management

  • Identify and execute financial analysis to optimize business performance

  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management reporting - analyzing financial results, distilling/synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating critical updates to senior leadership

  • Assist in other ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related field

  • 7+ years' experience in finance

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel - REQUIRED

  • Ability to work cross functionally and influence appropriately

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Able to think strategically and operate effectively with management
