This position is responsible for providing case management assistance to the Department of Child Safety (DCS) Specialists.

Alternative work hours may be required including overtime, Saturdays, and holidays at the discretion of the supervisor.


  • Under immediate to general supervision, provides a variety of services to families, children, and adults in various social service programs in the Department of Child Safety (DCS)

  • Assists individuals and families with application process, provides case management assistance to participants involved in CPS and provides clerical support

  • Transports DCS clients to scheduled appointments

  • Supervision of child/parent visits;

  • Teaches home management, parenting skills, child development, and budgeting for DCS clients

  • Participates in a variety of meetings and/or court hearings as requested

  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures related to DCS


Knowledge of:

  • General current State, Federal and district laws and policies regarding child welfare services

  • General resources available in the community that may be utilized on behalf of clients

  • General policies, procedures and practices of court Foster Care Review Board with regard to cases involving custody and placement of children

  • Developmental and behavioral problems of children

  • Cultural environment and community influences on the behavior and development of individuals

  • In-state travel is required. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.).

  • Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.


  • High School Diploma or GED and experience in providing child care services


  • An Associate‚Äôs Degree in child development, rehabilitation, social services, counseling, psychology, sociology or other closely related field

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows applications and software to include Microsoft Office Suite


  • Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

  • Applicants for this position shall be subject to a search of the DCS Central Registry.

  • Applicants for this position will be required to apply for and show proof of receipt of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets DCS requirements for a Level One card.
