The position will design and implement all activities for the R-Garden under the direction of Agricultura Operations and in consultation with the Advisory Committee. The garden is centrally located in the university and will provide sustainability and agricultural education through university-level courses, research, service learning, community events, and a variety of student-led initiatives.
High school diploma or equivalent certification. Preferred
Academic prep in horticulture. Preferred
QAL (Qualified Applicators License -- pesticide applicators license) may be required. Preferred
Blood born pathogen and sharps disposal training. Preferred
Minimum of 6 years of related experience. Required
Previous supervisory/managerial experience. Preferred
Basic computer applications skills.
Ability to provide plant and pest identification.
Successfully working independently as well as part of a team. Ability to lead and organize others.
Working knowledge in landscape/groundskeeping services.
Working verbal and written communication skills in the English language, including active listening, flexibility, critical thinking, and the ability to multi-task and ensure effective time management.
Working decision making and reasoning skills, and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems and conduct operations analysis and quality control analysis.
Working, effective interpersonal and work leadership skills to provide guidance to other personnel.
Ability to communicate in Spanish.
