Working here is your opportunity to shape an industry that’s vital to us all.Job summaryReporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting for the service centre, the incumbent will have the key responsibilities of supervising the month-end consolidation process, ensuring the monthly validation and submission to head office of actual financial results (in both currencies), overseing the production of supporting documents (accounting schedules), participate in the production of legal financial statements and supervising the completion of Statistics Canada surveys.Specific responsibilities• Supervise the month-end consolidation process: journal entries, financial data validation and submission to the US head office within set deadlines.• Ensure completeness and validation of data in our various financial systems (SAP vs. BPC vs. HFM) in Canadian and US dollars.• Supervise the production of accounting schedules and ensure supporting documents are complete. • Monitor balance sheet intercompany balances data. • See to the completion of Statistics Canada surveys and submit them within set deadlines.• Manage the work of a team of two financial analysts.• Compile and produce legal financial statements.• Oversee and conduct SOX tests, as requested.• Follow up on and provide updates to your supervisor on current or future files. • Act as a business partner for various stakeholders. • Help create new reports using our various systems.• Recommend and implement process and system improvements.• Carry out other tasks requested by your supervisor, such as follow-up and analysis reports, as needed.
