Kforce Tax Operations Analyst in Saint Petersburg, Florida

Kforce has a client seeking a Tax Operations Analyst in Saint Petersburg, FL.Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the production of annual IRS tax forms

  • Conduct a thorough review, research and implementation of any new tax laws, Global Plus, Tax bridge and OneSource systems, enhancements and/or new IRS/Foreign/FATCA regulations

  • Validate all tax reclaim account data, JPMC vendor files, and IRS/Foreign Market files and provide sign off

  • Interface with external vendor, the IRS, internal and external clients

  • Validate and establish Global Plus tax processing rules related to Tax Statement and 1099 production to reduce risks and penalties

  • Determine income tax liability from the K1 for the party that has interest in an entity

  • Analyze daily Global Plus and Excel files and calculates the payment of NRA, Back-up, and FATCA Withholding amounts

  • Ensure the payments are made to the IRS by deadline to avoid late payment penalties

  • Maintain daily figures to produce the 945 as to produce the final information to balance the 1042-S

  • Monitor email workbasket and respond to complex question from Compliance, Tax Service, and business partners by providing P&P guidance when necessary

  • Monitor JPMC and Treasury Accounting Control income queue and process in Global Plus refunds, foreign repatriation, and escalated requests

  • Analyze and reconcile transactions posted to Clearance accounts

  • Establish system rules for the processing of income with applicable tax treaty rates; analyze tax reclaim receivables and initiate write-off when needed

  • Monitor amortization, cost adjustments and generate Asset Transfer Statements

  • BS in finance or tax related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3 years industry experience preferred

  • 1 - 2 years' industry experience preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients as well as various tax agencies

  • Must possess excellent research skills and strong detail orientation

  • Must demonstrate ability to identify and evaluate risk

  • Independent analysis of complex tax reporting issues

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of classified client information

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Courteous and professional communication skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external client as well as various tax agencies

  • Project management skills are desirable

  • Strong aptitude in in MS office suite, particularly Excel

  • Ability to mentor other team members

  • Ability to train other team members

  • Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures

  • Work is closely supervised; follows specific, detailed instructions. Defers non-routine matters to supervisor
