Seeks out and coordinates all activities related to developing new business for the Electrical department. Engaged in sales and estimating activities for construction, maintenance and repair of power and electrical systems in buildings. Projects must meet or exceed business and customer expectations. All work performed will adhere to National Building Code and standards, NEC, company safety policies and OSHA mandated requirements. Potentially install, troubleshoot and service electrical systems. Perform take offs and estimate projects. Develop and deliver proposals for energy upgrades, lighting upgrades, electrical service and other electrical related projects. Meet, train and work with consulting engineers to promote business and services. Work with vendors to standardize best value pricing. Work with customers and agencies to be an approved electrical contractor. Meet with and provide property managers and building owner's solutions to electrical needs. Work with General Contractors and other contractors in our industry to promote electrical business and services. Work with other departments within the business to maintain good relationships with existing customers. Provide electrical proposals to other departments within the business. Coordinate with HVAC estimators and project managers to provide electrical proposals for projects they are bidding on. Set clear objectives, goals, and expectations with Manager for position. Maintain those objectives, goals and expectations. Negotiate and resolve customer concerns. When necessary, estimate change orders for assigned projects. Work with project managers and project foreman on job estimating, job creation, work package definition and project closeouts. Manage bid processes for electrical projects. Participate in post project reviews. Develop and maintain a network of professional relationships within our industry. Keep up on industry trends. Maintain industry knowledge by reading industry magazines, journals and articles. Study production schedules and project daily reports for more efficient project estimation. Interpret specifications and blueprints to generate project proposals. Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials. Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Coordinate with controls estimator in handoff of project after contract is awarded. Manage controls and electrical construction projects to mitigate risk and protect profitability. As needed, and under department manager's direction, assist controls estimator with material and labor estimates and review proposals. Work with department manager in coordinating schedules and manpower resources.
