Robert Half Technology Systems Administrator - Direct Hire in San Antonio, Texas
The Systems Administrator has primary responsibility for installing, managing, maintaining and upgrading the server environment for the organization. The System Administrator will also be responsible for DNS/DHCP services, directory services and servers, communication services and servers, SAN and storage provisioning and monitoring, physical, blade servers, virtual server management and backup and disaster recovery systems. The Systems Administrator will also work with end users to provide analysis of techniques and procedures to determine hardware and software systems specifications; installing, documenting, testing, and modifying computer systems or programs and computer operating systems. The Systems Administrator responsibilities will also include significant planning, initiative, project management, on-going research and learning, and frequent communication with colleagues. Position Requirements are as follows: Minimum of an Associate's Degree required, preferably in a Computer Science or related field Minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft server (2008 and 2012 R2) and desktop (Windows 7 through Windows 10) operating systems administration and Microsoft Active Directory management and group policy administration. Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Exchange 2010,experience with Office 365 a plus. Minimum of 2 years of experience and knowledge of server virtualization; specifically, VMware, and storage area networking technologies. Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL, preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint. Knowledge of Microsoft IIS and Apache servers. Knowledge in UNIX commands, scripting, and file structure, Windows scripting, able to write task automation scripts. Knowledgeable in networking topologies and protocols, services, and telecommunications to support Internet and remote access. The Systems Administrator should be able to learn and understand technological information quickly and troubleshoot and solve equipment and software problems efficiently with little or no direct supervision. The Systems Administrator should possess strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work with consultants, vendors, and peers as a team player who can build strong relationships.
