Athleta is creating a new breed of premium, authentically active and fashion-fueled apparel for a life in motion. Our mission is to ignite a community of active, healthy confident girls who empower each other to realize their limitless potential.

We're looking for people who find inspiration in the same things we do. Like community. Participation. Empowering others. Working as a team. Never forgetting that work isn't work without a little play - and, of course, being a part of something bigger. At Athleta we’re always reaching for amazing - and that challenge is what fuels us!

Power of She

At Athleta our mission is to ignite a community of active, healthy, confident women and girls who empower each other to realize their limitless potential.

Since the beginning, we’ve been inspired by everything women and girls are capable of, whether they’re serious athletes or just getting into fitness. We started this company because we recognized that women were underserved in sports. It was hard to find apparel that fit right and worked for women’s bodies and needs. As women athletes ourselves, we set out to create what we were looking for and redefine the modern way of dressing. It’s all about premium quality, total performance, feminine style and the versatility we need for our entire active lifestyle, from work to workout to weekend. Fast forward to the present and we’re proud to be pioneers in an industry that is now thriving, giving women so many more choices for what they love to do.

Athleta was born in Sonoma County, created by athletes (mostly women) who love the great outdoors. We believe that being fit and active makes life richer and bigger than it could possibly be otherwise. And we’ve seen firsthand how fitness nourishes the mind, body and heart, and opens up new worlds for us. Most importantly, what we have learned along this journey is that alone we are strong, but united we thrive. Our more than 130 stores have become hubs for their communities to meet, inspire and ignite each other into realizing their limitless potential. For all women and girls, no matter our body types or sports ability, there is no end to what is possible when we join together.

At Athleta we’re always reaching for amazing - and that challenge is what fuels us.
