An innovative company located in downtown Seattle is seeking a temporary Human Resources Assistant to join their Leave and Accommodation team. The Human Resources Assistant will be the interface and case manager for employees; identifying leave types, coordinating with state leave and payroll laws and return to work pay and benefits. Responsibilities of said Human Resources Assistant would focus on ensuring exceptional employee experience; responding timely and accurately to questions, providing guidance, assessing risk, resolving issues, and escalating issues as appropriate; working closely with external vendors, community providers and services, managers and internal partners and departments, while maintaining employee confidential information. The successful Human Resources Assistant will have a customer service focus, exceptional communication and organizational skills, a superior attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements: Qualifications

  • Experience with Leave of Absence administration or knowledge of HR policy, payroll, worker's compensation, or benefits

  • Demonstrated organization skills and superior attention to detail

  • Exceptional service and customer-focus

  • Passionate team player with the willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done

  • Problem solving initiative with ability to troubleshoot issues independently and escalate when necessary

  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and take ownership of implementing changes

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven time management and task ownership

  • Sensitivity to confidential information and compliance thereof

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Visio

  • Bachelor's degree equivalent human resource work experience

  • Willingness to work overtime Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with claim processing, administration, and/or systems work

  • Previous working knowledge of HRIS, PeopleSoft, Oracle systems

  • Ability to learn new systems quickly
