The Sr. Taxonomist will partner with project team members and a lead information architect in setting the strategy, research process, and roadmap for taxonomy standardization for corporate marketing, analytics and technology processes and systems.


  • Coordinate the alignment and definition of metadata across teams and systems

  • Define and maintain the vocabulary and data structure that drives consistency in application across marketing, analytics and technology processes and systems

  • Establish taxonomy governance processes to ensure ongoing consistency and alignment

  • Establish taxonomy conventions for adoption across multiple marketing and technology teams

  • Responsible for establishing a data dictionary and accompanying documentation for ongoing reference for marketing, analytics, digital product, and technology teams

  • Document information architecture, prepare data models, and design information structure and data flow

  • Educate stakeholders and teams on the taxonomy process, workflows and implementation frameworks


  • Must have a solid understanding of metadata, subject classification, description cataloging, and knowledge organization

  • Proven ability to develop and manage taxonomies for complex projects with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders

  • 5+ years’ experience in information architecture
