h1Job Summary/h1The Youth Career Coordinator will be responsible for building, maintaining and leveraging relationships with growing businesses in counties in the Greater Ann Arbor area, with a particular focus on Livingston and Washtenaw. The goal is to provide local employers with an understanding of the opportunities and engagement points with our talent ecosystem, including MI Bright Future. The Youth Career Coordinator plays a critical role in partnering and supporting school districts, administrators, teachers, and students to create opportunities for them to engage directly with local businesses. Leveraging opportunities like MI Bright Future, Manufacturing Day, Tech-Trek, the Michigan Works! family of programs and others, the Youth Career Coordinator will ensure businesses know where and how to engage with youth and the K-12 system. This position is supported by the MI Bright Future team (Senior Program Manager, Program Coordinator, Program Assistant), focusing on a high level of engagement and response with employer partners, and leading outreach and communications to businesses. h1Essential Duties and Responsibilities/h1ulliBuild, maintain and leverage relationships with growing businesses in Region 9 with a particular focus on Washtenaw and Livingston counties to provide them with an understanding of the opportunities and engagement points with our talent ecosystem/liliBuild, maintain and leverage relationships with school districts, school administrators and students to create opportunities for them to engage directly with growing businesses/liliCoordinate and plan talent awareness activities, including (but not limited to) talent tours like: Manufacturing Day in Washtenaw Livingston counties; a talent tour related to Livingston County; career expos (e.g., Ypsi Career Expo), job fairs and other activities/liliDevelop a MI Bright Future recruitment strategy in conjunction with other employer engagement opportunities/liliCreate targeted employer outreach list/liliDevelop a calendar of face-to-face meetings with employers/liliTrack business outreach and follow-up in an Excel document or other project management tool/liliCommunicate with employers as needed, including timely follow-up/liliBuild relationships with associations, chambers, and other business member organizations/liliRecruit local and regional sponsors of the various initiatives as businesses are interested/liliHost or facilitate employer engagement meetings as needed/liliParticipate in bi-monthly meetings with the MI Bright Future Community Advisory Council/liliCommunicate regularly with WIN staff/liliMaintain data and reporting on activities outcomes/liliOther tasks as assigned/li/ul
