Golf Operations Assistant
The Golf Operations Assistants purpose is to create a memorable golfing experience for all our visitors and hotel guests, by providing engaging service in all areas of the Golf operation, whilst complying with all Fairmont Standards.
Hotel Overview: Set on a 520 acre estate with a unique coastal setting in the Home of Golf, Fairmont St Andrews is the perfect location to turn any holiday into a treasured memory whilst offeringa resort experience steeped in the history of the area and traditions of Scotland. The Resort includes 209 luxurious guest bedrooms, 6 diverse dining outlets, 2 golf courses and a tranquil Spa & Leisure facility.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Golf Operations Supervisor, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- To provide excellent customer service at all times.
To assist in organising promotions to stimulate golf shop sales.
Ensure that the golf shop is clean, orderly, well-stocked and professionally presented at all times.
To offer specialist advice using product knowledge, recommend products and services to meet customer requirements.
The up-selling of rental items and retail products to all golfers.
To follow all established shop procedures, including those for payment processing, handling, customer complaints, opening and closing, Health and Safety, Security, etc
Ensure practice facilities are kept clean and tidy of empty range baskets, moving range dividers as and when is necessary.
Sand worn range areas of the driving range on a regular basis.
Keep staging area outside shop clean and presentable at all times; buggies neatly lined up, trolleys free from rubbish and shoe cleaner emptied of grass.
Wash and charge rental equipment on their return from course ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
Collect and wash driving range balls as required, making sure balls from the edges of the range have also been cleared.
Proactively take towels, cardboard and any other rubbish to the hotel for recycling.
- Previous experience is an asset
- Previous point of sale system experience an asset, but not required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Visa Requirements:Applicants must be eligible to work in the EU or hold a valid work authorisation for the UK.
