Stationary Engineer Job ID: 43776 Department: Facil Steam Plant Oper City: St Paul, MN Location: RH - Regions Hospital & Clinics Position Type: Full-Time Anticipated Work Schedule: 3rd shift 11PM to 7AM Rotating days off Shift: Night Hrs/Pay Period: 80 Job Description: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: 1 year working in a high pressure boiler plant environment/maintenance field or applicable education will substitute for lacking experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Knowledge of building automation systems (i.e. Johnson control/Trane) * Knowledge of the maintenance and operating procedures for high-pressure boilers, chillers and related equipment. * Ability to operate boilers, heat exchangers, chillers and auxiliaries, power and hand tools, and test equipment such as volt-OHM meter, CO, CO2 and O2 meters etc. * Knowledge of piping layout and valve locations for normal and emergency operation. * Ability to lift 100 lbs * Ability to read and write the English language. * Ability to complete required reports and daily log sheets. * Ability to interpret readings on energy management computer. * Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics * Must be able to communicate with coworkers, supervisor in an effective and professional manner. Licensure/Registration/Certification: Must possess a current Minnesota state Engineers License, 2nd Class "B" (minimum). Must be able to obtain 1st class license within 3 years to maintain employment. Must posses a valid MinnesotaState driver's license. POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: Operate Boilers / plant equipment required to provide steam and chillers to provide chilled water to the hospital and associated buildings; to keep energy losses and major repair to a minimum through preventive maintenance, water treatment, and routine inspection; to record equipment usage and production for reference and budget reports; to operate District Heating heat exchangers (when applicable); to keep boiler plant equipment and spaces clean; and to perform related duties as assigned. Additional Information: Pay effective 7/1/2017 1st class b or higher engineer license $36.10 Hr Plus Differential 2nd class license (provisional) $32.74 Hr plus Differential Night shift Differential $2.60 Hr, Weekend differential $.95 Hr.
