THIS IS A CAREER SERVICE POSITION.
The Agency for Persons with Disabilities works in partnership with local communities to support people with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in their communities. APD provides critical services and supports for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children age 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. There is no charge or co-payment for services provided through the Agency.
DIRECT DEPOSIT PROGRAM- As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in State government is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Must have experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
This is a professional position in the Medicaid waiver unit. This position has primary responsibility for conducting medical necessity reviews for individuals served through the iBudget and CDC+ waiver programs, processing cost plan amendment requests for increases in Medicaid waiver funding, reviewing CDC+ purchasing plans, and in working with Medicaid waiver support coordinators and CDC+ Consultants.
In accordance with requirements of applicable statute, rule and Agency operating procedures conducts medical necessity reviews as assigned on annual support plans and cost plan updates submitted by Waiver support coordinators. Approves cost plans in the iBudget system in a timely and accurate manner. Checks iBudget system daily and meets timelines for processing requests based on established Agency procedures. Tracks to ensure that supports plans are submitted timely and that all required supporting documentation is included. Submits service requests that are to be denied, terminated or reduced to the Operations Management Consultant II for further review and action. Tracks and reports disposition of all support/cost plan submissions.
Processes allCDC+ -related documentation and paperwork for participants enrolled on the CDC+ Waiver in the Panama City and Marianna area as required by rule and operating procedures. Receives, processes and tracks readiness reviews, participant/representative application and enrollment packets and purchasing plans, as well as background screening and provider packets for directly hired employees, agency vendors and independent contractors. Participates in CDC+ conference calls, maintains regular communication with the State office and Regional supervisor and provides technical assistance to CDC+ consultants to ensure that requirements of the CDC+ waiver are consistently and correctly operationalized in the assigned area. Assists the State office to resolve issues involving CDC+ participants, representatives, directly hired employees and vendors.
Processes cost plan amendment requests in the Panama City and Marianna area in accordance with Agency operating procedures. Receives requests for cost plan increases from Waiver Support Coordinators, provides feedback to ensure that all available resources are accessed and that all funds within have been uses before Waiver funds are requested. Ensures that all supporting documentation has been submitted by the Waiver support coordinator. Makes referrals to the Medical Case Manager and/or Region Behavior Analyst as appropriate to assess need for increased funding. Drafts narrative summary to accompany the cost plan amendment request and submits the completed packet to the Operations Management Consultant II for review. Logs and tracks all steps in the process to ensure required timeframes are met.
Collaborates with staff from the Quality Improvement division to represent the Agency at meetings with providers and client staffings that are conducted for the purpose of ensuring that individual client health and safety needs are met.
Provides technical assistance to Waiver Support Coordinators and CDC+ consultants as necessary.
Assists with monitoring of consumer central files which are maintained by the Waiver Support Coordinators as directed by the supervisor. Assists as assigned in the transition of central records to and from Waiver Support Coordinators.
Performs duties to support the Regional Medicaid Waiver Unit, including but not limited to, working with Medicaid waiver enrolled service providers, special assignments relating to changes in the Medicaid Waiver and the CDC+ program as needed. Serves as back-up to coworkers in Medicaid Waiver division as assigned. Assists in the identification and resolution of Regional specific problems concerning policy implementation and service delivery. Provides technical assistance regarding programmatic and consumer issues.
Completes activities related to disaster planning and performs other related duties as assigned.
