Strategic Development Manager

Job Description:

  • Manage complex logistics projects from planning through to execution and provides findings resulting from project execution

  • Lead cross functional regional project teams (logistics procurement, customs, process engineering, business units SC operations, IT, logistics service providers) providing mentoring and guidance.

  • Applies strong program governance methodologies including status reporting, steering board reviews and decision making processes extended to multiple functions and/or businesses. .

  • Own on time program delivery and project quality metrics

  • Independently structure analytical approaches and develop project strategies by applying advanced, in-depth supply chain & logistics knowledge and Project Management skills and methodologies.

  • Interpret data to create new processes, strategies, and tools to be used for supply chain business objectives

  • Create new frameworks for project delivery and contribute to tools, templates, and intellectual capital

  • Work across multiple countries and businesses; work horizontally and vertically

  • Consults with business executives on a wide range of high-level supply chain issues, including risk management and new growth opportunities.

  • Frequently interact with Directors and VPs. Education and Experience Required

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred

  • Typically 10+ years of experience in supply chain or logistics function

  • Project management degree or certification. Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills

  • Advanced written and verbal communication, presentation, and influencing skills; mastery in English and local language

  • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries

  • Advanced team and project management skills, including project structuring and managing multiple work streams independently

  • Excellent business acumen, process knowledge in logistics and within multiple business units, and extensive knowledge in applications, technologies, and emerging industry trends

  • Ability to independently draft and present deliverables, recommendations, and communications strategies

  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a constructive way

Education and Experience Required

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.

  • Typically 6-10 years of experience in a supply chain function.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and high-level modeling tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Excellent team and project management skills, including project structuring.

  • Strong business acumen and technical knowledge across multiple business units, with an understanding of emerging trends.
