Medical Information Associate, Diabetes (1 year contract)

The Medical Information Associate is a customer-oriented individual who communicates high-level clinical/scientific data externally to healthcare providers and internally to cross functional business partners, supporting inter- and intra-departmental initiatives and business strategies.
Develop and deliver verbal and/or written communication of researched medical/scientific information to healthcare professionals and consumers in response to unsolicited requests.
Interpret, analyze, and disseminate relevant, published and unpublished data to internal business partners and cross-functional teams (e.g. Sales & Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs) to support business strategy and product life-cycle management.
Collaborate with internal business partners on the development, review, approval, and implementation of promotional material, scientific presentations, corporate communications, and patient education projects.
Actively participate in cross-functional business teams for product launches and management of marketplace issues.
Deliver scientific support as required in training of new business partners on therapeutic areas, product-specific knowledge, and Medical Information processes and resources.
Actively contribute to local and global Medical Information projects to enhance deliverables to external and internal customers.
Generate and communicate customer insights through analysis of medical information requests and attendance at therapeutic and professional conferences.
Provide Medical Information booth support at major scientific meetings.
Identify and report adverse events and product complaints for Janssen marketed products according to internal procedures and timelines established in SOPs.
Lead and/or participate in local and/or global Medical Information projects
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or another healthcare profession, or a degree in Life Sciences required; advanced graduate degree a strong asset (MSc, MD, PhD, PharmD)
Diabetes therapeutic area expertise
Diabetes educator certification will be an asset
Experience in a pharmaceutical industry Medical Information department, in a regional or hospital drug information centre, or in a healthcare setting.
Familiarity with regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines/policies preferred
Project Management experience and/or certification an asset
Technical competency requirements:

Demonstrated ability to search and navigate through various online and in-print research resources.

Strong communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills.

Proven ability to work independently and in cross-functional team settings
Demonstrated ability to prioritize.
Advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel required. Working knowledge of other relevant software programs (including Adobe or Microsoft Office Suite) a plus.
