Fleet Safety Manager

O&G Industries, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Fleet Safety Manager to join our safety team. This person will manage various aspects of safety, including accident investigations; safety training; site audits; equipment inspections; corporate reporting, and OSHA/DOT compliance.

The Fleet Safety Manager will implement the Company safety program to ensure a safe, healthy and incident and injury free work environment on assigned projects and facilities. This person is responsible for meeting specific objectives and strategies to maintain an effective safety program that complies with federal, state and local safety regulations.

Essential Duties

  • Coordinates regular safety meetings with drivers and managers and ensures all relevant briefings are communicated in a timely fashion

  • Tracks DOT score and builds safety habits among the drivers

  • Monitors driver and vehicle safety to ensure all vehicles operated by O&G Industries are road worthy

  • Investigates all truck accidents, identifies the root cause and shares potential trends and patterns

  • Conducts risk assessments and compliance audits to ensure effective and sustainable implementation of safety requirements across all O&G locations

  • Completes a trend analysis by interpreting data generated from incident, GPS and unsafe driving reports

  • Understands DOT drug testing criteria to ensure Baldor meets parameters related to DOT regulated drug testing

  • Manages and coaches both positive and at risk behaviors using telematics system.

  • Leads all road testing efforts for new drivers and drivers returning to duty from a leave of absence


  • Minimum of 2 years direct experience leading safety in a fleet of at least 75 commercial trucks and over 100 CDL Drivers

  • Experience developing risk management programs including a thorough understanding of the parameters related to US DOT Drug & Alcohol Regulations

  • Experience investigating the root cause of all truck accidents

  • Leadership qualities, strong platform skills and training experience is necessary

  • The ability to direct and achieve priorities, goals, and strategies with limited supervision

  • Effective communication skills including written & verbal skills.

  • Proficient knowledge of computers and typical production software (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
