As the administrators of eight public retirement systems, 15 retirement plans and the Deferred Compensation Program, we serve a vast and diverse population. Our office is located in Tumwater, part of the Olympia/Tumwater/Lacey tri-city area on the southernmost tip of Puget Sound. We are part of a community rich in history, culture and natural beauty.
We are currently recruiting to fill two vacant web developer positions. This recruitment may also be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. The successful candidates for these positions may be placed at the IT Specialist 3 or 4 level, depending on skills and qualifications. A structured training plan has been developed that includes a maximum of one year of training at the IT Specialist 3 level before advancing to the IT Specialist 4.
Working in a professional team environment, you will develop and maintain applications that allow our customers and partners access to data that supports our members' retirement accounts. These applications are critical for the agency to provide service to its customers and need to be accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week (except during scheduled maintenance).
The desirable qualifications include:
- Intermediate proficiency in analyzing, designing, consulting, developing, and/or supporting software products;
- At least one year of experience utilizing Visual Studio and .NET programming;
- Intermediate proficiency using MS SQL Server;
- Intermediate proficiency utilizing middleware as an integration tool to access the IBM Mainframe; and
- Demonstrated proficiency in the following competency areas:
Analysis Studies and reviews documents and information closely; readily identifies information that is not pertinent and understands when additional or verifying data is needed. Uses data and information in a clear and rational thought process to assess and understand issues, evaluate options, form accurate conclusions, and make recommendations/decisions.
Researching and Gathering Information Effectively identifies, collects, organizes, and documents relevant data and information in ways that make the information most useful for subsequent assessment, analysis, and investigation.
Customer Focus Dedicated to meeting the expectations of customers. Delivers high quality services and products. Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships. Committed to continuous improvement and always acts with the customer in mind.
Managing Workloads Effectively organizes and prioritizes multiple, sometimes complex assignments, often involving competing priorities, to produce work products that are accurate, thorough, and on-time.
