The Senior Director, Human Resources for the organization’s Human Resource objectives and policies and reporting into the VP of Organizational Development and Human Resources (ODHR). Plan, organize, lead and control Company employee relations, compensation, employee benefits, organization and recruitment planning and development, EEO, health, safety and environmental activities which support the Company’s business plan and objectives. The ideal candidate will be an influential leader capable of working with a diverse group of senior leaders with varying styles.
Job Core Responsibilities
Understand overall strategic direction. Provide the appropriate HR programs, strategies and processes pertinent to rewards & compensation, staffing, talent management/OD, employee relations and learning to achieve business results. Leverage all HR programs, policies, processes and systems. Effectively partner with and fully leverage HR corporate functional areas.
Improve HR capability by partnering with other members of the HR team to develop and implement new and / or improved programs and processes. Bring new HR expertise and capability to the HR team. Participate in the on-going development of the human resources strategic direction for the business and company.
Work with HR teams and leadership of newly acquired sites to ensure integration of process and culture through change management.
Responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining personnel policies and regulations subject to applicable laws and regulations.
Drives the Company culture through a variety of actions focused on Employee Engagement and customer-centric service.
Responsible for introducing the executing employee benefits or compensation structures or changes to existing plans.
Ensure compliance with Federal and State law including workers’ compensation requirements; works with outside legal counsel to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Responsible for the preparation and implementation of the company’s Affirmative Action Plan (AAP).
Responsible for working with the site HR and Leadership teams on training and development.
Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rates and adjusts structures accordingly.
Direct all appropriate actions (staffing, delegating, coaching, directing, training, etc.) necessary to develop and maintain a level of staff competency.
Ensure that necessary training of employees is identified and implemented and appropriate records of employee training are maintained.
Participates in planning Company’s manpower levels and expenditure rates in accordance with Company approved budgets.
Communicate to general management and the VP, Site Operations the status of departmental activities.
Serves as an active member of the Site Leadership Team.
May be assigned special projects to support other Meggitt Polymers and Composites Facilities or corporate or group needs.
Able to travel when necessary.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management; advanced degree in desireable. Years Experience: Minimum 10 (plus) years in an increasingly senior and complex business environment; influencing and driving results, preferably in a technical manufacturing environment. Skills:
Knowledge of employment laws and regulation.
Strong business acumen that includes a clear understanding of market trends, competitors, company policies, procedures, and culture.
Solid stakeholder management skills that include the ability to effectively consult, negotiate, resolve conflict and influence change.
Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to design and implement creative processes and solutions that drive business results.
Proven ability to be a visionary, provide strategic thought leadership, think analytically and solve complex issues and challenges.
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong team player with the ability to facilitate team building, develop effective partnerships and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
Detailed knowledge of contemporary business tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and competency and experience with cloud-based HRIS applications such as Oracle, Workday or Success Factors.
An extensive knowledge of strategic goal setting, change management and budget management.
Strong leadership and delegation skills required.
Familiarity with Operational Excellence and Quality Improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Gemba and Kaizen principles.
