Inspection Programmer (Job Number: 009923W-01)
DuPont Engineering Polymers is currently seeking an Inspection Programmer to provide technical support to Operations with respect to inspection equipment programming / operation, relative to inspection of components and sub-assemblies. As part of the continuous improvement philosophy, you will support Quality Improvement Teams. You will also be responsible for supporting calibration and maintenance of Gauge Crib.
To succeed in this role, you must be able to effectively advise Management of product conformance and capability issues and provide fact-based recommendations for improvement and problem resolution.
This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Program and operate inspection equipment (CMMs, Keyence optical comparators, etc), to assure product conformance to all internal, customer, and regulatory requirements. Support capability and producability evaluations and improvement efforts for new and existing parts.
Work with Engineering on New Product Commercialization (NPC) projects relative to inspection equipment programming and inspection measurement, to evaluate new processes and conformance to requirements.
Perform advanced bench and layout inspections in addition to CMM / Keyence evaluations, to assist Engineering in completing proof of concept work with NPC.
Support the Gauge Crib by completing calibrations, updating the Gauge Calibration System electronic records, and issuing gauges to floor personnel.
Support resolution of measurement issues in the Cells (Tiger Teams) and communicate recommendations for corrective / preventive action and quality improvement.
Support and participate in the Internal Audit Process, customer audits, and NADCAP Certification Teams, where necessary.
Support Quality Improvement Teams and other quality-improvement focused meetings. Work with MTE’s, Quality Engineers, and Specialists, to resolve problem issues and improve quality.
Work with Supplier Quality to facilitate corrective and preventive action relative to supplier quality problems and source inspection issues.
Support the review of Manufacturing Planning documentation.
Issue NCMR’s and stop tags where conditions warrant. Initiate and follow up on stock purges and line checks.
Support Manufacturing Engineering in the design of fixturing and gauging. Identify inspection and test equipment / gauging needed to achieve target quality levels. Recommend updates in inspection and test techniques to improve productivity / accuracy and eliminate inconsistencies through development of standards of acceptability. Support Preliminary Review of NCMR’s for validity of rejections and clarity of documentation.
May act as back-up to the Quality Cell Leader.
Our picturesque Valley View site is located near Interstate 77, Interstate 480, and the Ohio Turnpike, south of Cleveland. Our air conditioned facility employs about 135 people and manufactures compression molded; close tolerance machined composite parts for aerospace and specialty industrial applications. Our customers include the major commercial and military aircraft engine manufacturers around the world. This is a nonsmoking facility.

In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:
High School Diploma
3 years CMM experience (CNC experience will be considered)
5 years experience in manufacturing
3 years of experience with ISO9001/AS9100
Proficiency with basic inspection hand tools and gauging techniques
Must have or being willing to obtain ASQ-CMI certification
Must be able to read complex engineering drawings that include geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, knowledge of ANSI drawing standards and model-based definition.
Working knowledge of Microsoft suite
The following skill sets are preferred by the site:
Lean manufacturing and / or Six Sigma experience
Experience with gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies and process capability measurement
