SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Broadcast Editor for afull-time position supporting our United States Government (USG)customer. This position reports to the Production Creation Manager.

Essential Job Duties

• Develops graphics for inclusionin various media, including print, presentations, electronic materials,posters, handbills, magazines and leaflets

• Edits a variety of media, B-roll footage and audio

• Determines the medium best suited to producing desired visualeffect and most appropriate vehicle for communicating media message

• Develops conceptual media products

• Prepares sketches, layouts and graphic elements using traditionaltools, multimedia software and image processing, layout and designsoftware

• Works with pre-existing photos/graphic images, and illustrationarchives, including Combat Camera (COMCAM) and public affairsphotography

• Coordinates all aspects of production of print and electronicmaterials (posters, handbills, billboards, leaflets, tri-folds,pamphlets and magazines)

• Develops and produces realistic or representational sketches andfinal illustrations, by hand or using computer-assisted design (CAD)software

• Develops storyboards for electronic productions

• Assists with determining the medium best suited to producingdesired visual effect and most appropriate vehicle for communicatingmedia message


• US citizenship with a current DOD SECRET security clearance

• Five (5) years experience working commercially in multi-media production

• Working proficiency in Adobe Final Cut Pro, Illustrator, Adobe PageMaker, Premier, Freehand, Dreamweaver, Photoshop CS3, InDesign and Streamline; Macromedia Director, and other multi-media and graphics software in Windows or Macintosh required

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Graphic Design, Media Production, Marketing or related field preferred

• Familiar with the Middle Eastern culture gained through work, living or traveling in the Middle East desired

• Former Military Broadcast Journalist or Defense Information Service equivalent training strongly desired

• Experience as a producer preferred

• Must be comfortable working in a sound booth and editing suite

• Demonstrated ability to complete sound and image editing, sub-titles, transfer final products to tape (digi-Beta, mini-DV, all formats including PAL)

• Excellent written, oral, briefing, interpersonal and technical skills


Work Environment:

• Live and work daily with military customer in austere conditions across Afghanistan

• Function effectively and efficiently in a conflict zone, during extended periods of high pressure and stress
